At the Breakfast With Santa Foundation, we make it our mission to positively impact the lives of children in distress in our community. Our Vision: To be a portal of hope to the enhancement to a child’s quality of life by offering nutritional solutions to childhood hunger and life skills programming.On Saturday, September 10, 2022, the Breakfast With Santa Foundation will be expanding its community engagement by participating in a first-time cultural event at Mississauga Celebration Square showcasing Portuguese culture, history, culinary experiences, music and folklore > Portugalo Heritage Fest.Our participation is designed to highlight the programs that we offer to the community and the importance of volunteerism. We're in need of volunteers to assist in setting up various vendor tents; a garden wedding setting and décor; kids Zone; VIP café; plus decorations throughout the Square.


In terms of prepping the Fest, our Set-up Assistants will assist in setting up various vendor tents; garden wedding sitting and décor; Kids Zone; VIP café; decorations throughout Celebration Square in front of Mississauga's Civic Centre (see MAP, below). This is a physical 'role' that requires standing/lifting/carrying (see QUALIFICATIONS, below). Volunteers may expect to rotate in various 'roles' as set-up of the event proceeds (also tear down). Specifics will be provided during an ORIENTATION/TRAINING session, which will take place in mid August.

By sharing your time and energy on Saturday, September 10th (see TIME COMMITMENT, below), you will contribute to a festival where culture is highlighted and fun.

APPLICATIONS are being accepted until August 1, 2022. Volunteers with 'profiles' in Volunteer MBC's Referral System can gain immediate access to the event online application process by 'clicking' the yellow box 'Apply Now!' (above), and your name/contact info also will be sent to event organizers.

UNIQUE TO THIS OPPORTUNITY: All volunteers will receive a Portugalo Heritage Fest T-shirt, plus you'll have the opportunity to enjoy the festivities after your shift ends.


  • Minimum Age - 16
  • Volunteers must be able to carry/lift up to 30 lbs/15 kgs
  • You're committed to arrive on time and be totally engaged and focused throughout your shift(s) > see TIME COMMITMENT, below
  • Available for ORIENTATION/TRAINING session, to be scheduled in mid August
  • You're a team player, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude towards your 'role' and fellow volunteers
  • Ready to abide by all health and safety rules designed to ensure a safe, enjoyable volunteering experience for all

Time Commitment
This is a Special Event commitment starting 2022-09-10 AND ending 2022-09-10
Shifts are available on the following days
 - Saturday Morning, Saturday Afternoon, Saturday Evening

EVENT DATE: Saturday, September 10, 2022 (4 SHIFTS, each 5 hours long, except Shift#4)
Shift #1:  7 a.m. - 12 noon
Shift #2:  12 noon - 5 p.m
Shift #3   5 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Shift #4   10 p.m. - 11:59 p.m.
Please factor in time needed to travel to Mississauga's Celebration Square, so that you are on time for your shift(s).


ORIENTATION & TRAINING will be scheduled for a date in mid August, and take place at the Mississauga Convention Centre.
