About the Position

Creative Hub 1352 is looking for volunteers to join our Lakeview Farmers' Market planning team, which develops, plans, prepares, and delivers this exciting project, now in its third season. The planning team is always busy organizing for the Farmers' Market which runs from early June until late November 2022 at the Small Arms Inspection Building (SAIB), located at 1352 Lakeshore Road East, Mississauga (see map'below). The goal of the Market is to enrich lives by providing access to locally grown and sourced healthy food, organic and artisanal products and provide an income opportunity for local farmers, producers and artisans. A collateral benefit is that the public attending the Market will have the opportunity to learn about our growing cultural presence in the local community. DON'T DELAY! APPLY NOW!

Volunteers will be invited to work with the seasonal Market Manager and other Committee members with various organizational, administrative, and promotional tasks as well as being present at the weekly markets, as necessitated by the role(s) undertaken.  We are seeking individuals with a wide range of skills in various areas such as marketing, business, financial, organizational, event planning, education, and agricultural/farming knowledge to help with a broad spectrum of committee activities.   On Market days (see 'Time Commitment', below), we need volunteers to assist the Market Manager in overseeing set-up and tear-down, putting up temporary signage around the building, being available to assist vendors and customers, trouble shooting (should any issues arise), and tracking vendor and customer attendance.
