What inspires us to recognize volunteers?

One of Volunteer MBC's core beliefs is that we feel volunteers are the backbone of the voluntary sector. Their contributions are essential to maintain a healthy, vibrant society.

We also recognize that volunteering does not take place in isolation. Behind each and every volunteer there is someone who takes on the responsibility of coordinating, supporting, training and recruiting the volunteer so that it not only fulfills a specific need that the organization may have, but that it also fulfills the personal objectives that a volunteer has and helps to fulfil the reason behind why they give of themselves.

Volunteer MBC's Volunteer Recognition Awards Program provides the opportunity to place the spotlight on individuals who give their time and for their exemplary efforts, as well as to recognize volunteer engagement professionals and their organizations who actively engage volunteers and lead them by example in order to assist their organizations with the delivery of their programs and services.

Overall, we feel that it is extremely important to share volunteer success stories and to highlight how volunteering can make such a profound difference in the lives of others and in our community.
