Change The World Photo Contest
All participating student volunteers were provided with the opportunity to
participate in a photo contest for a chance to win a digital camera.
A strict condition of this contest is that all photos must have been taken of students/individuals who are aware of the
photo being taken. Photo disclaimer forms were included in the student volunteer registration package and
were collected on the day of the event.
Photos were to be submitted by email to Volunteer MBC for judging. The winner will be contacted by phone and
the photo will be posted and highlighted on the Volunteer MBC website as the contest winner. A media
release will also be distributed announcing the contest winner.
Some photos submitted will also be used for various Volunteer MBC marketing initiatives and approaches.

 Social Marketing Plan Contest
As part of the follow-up process, student teams also have the opportunity to participate in a contest where
they will share with fellow students why volunteering is so important by developing a social marketing plan
that promotes the not-for-profit organization of their choice.
Teams will be comprised of two students and each will be provided with a template to follow. Students are
encouraged to be as creative as possible; however, a successful plan will include a measurement component
where participating students are required to engage their peers to gather constructive feedback.
The objective is to be able to share their social marketing plan with their chosen not-for-profit organization. All
plans will be judged by a panel of marketing and media experts. The winning team will gain media exposure
and will receive prizes, which include co-hosting a Volunteer TV/Radio show to promote volunteerism.
